1. Introduction

GrafLab (GRAvity Field LABoratory) is a MATLAB-based routine for computing functionals of the geopotential up to ultra-high degrees and orders (tens of thousands and beyond). It allows:

  • evaluation of 38 functionals of the geopotential up to ultra-high degrees and orders (e.g., the geoid, height anomaly, gravity anomalies/disturbances, deflections of the vertical, gravitational tensor),
  • evaluation of commission error of 26 functionals using full variance-covariance matrix of spherical harmonic coefficients,
  • depiction of the computed data on a map.

GrafLab can be fully controlled either through GUI or as a function (without GUI). The latter option is beneficial especially when it needs to be called multiple times with, for instance, different geopotential model, maximum degree or evaluation points.
